Avery

Not a whole lot going on right now I just thought I'd post a picture of my cute girl! Isn't she growing up so fast? She's almost 20 months now. Her hair is growing longer, although she doesn't like having things in her hair. Luckily it's not long enough to get in her eyes yet. Oh and she got 4 new teeth this week - totalling 16 now. She can put two words together now and can even sing parts of the "Dora The Explorer" theme song ("Doo doo Dora..."). She's obsessed with taking care of her baby doll - giving her a bite of her food, wrapping her up and putting her to bed, singing her songs. We think she's going to be a great big sister!

Uh-Oh Dada...

That's what I taught Avery to say whenever we go in the bathroom and look what Merrick did to our bathtub! Just to make sure she knows who's to blame for this funny plight.

So Merrick was in the shower about a week ago and he put his foot up on the soap dish for a second and the whole thing fell off, along with the 6 tiles it was attached to! Pretty crazy huh? Well luckily we have two showers otherwise we would be a lot more upset that it hasn't been fixed in a week and a half. But we've just been using the other shower so it's worked out alright. I did think it was pretty funny, however.

There's No Denying it...

I'm definitely pregnant! So several people said they wanted a picture of my big 8 month baby belly... Well, let's just say you asked for it! I'm definitely feeling as big as I did with Avery, that's for sure. And I still have 4 weeks to go. Ahhh!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you all have a lovely day. We collected a nice stash of cards and goodies from grandparents, treats made at playgroup, and gifts for each other. It made for a fun little morning. We were supposed to wake up early and have my family's tradition of waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, but Avery had a bad night last night so we didn't feel like waking up that early. So I just made them for me and Avery when she woke up, after Merrick had left for work. She was more interested in sitting on the table and throwing all of the Valentine's Day stuff on the floor, however. So the waffles ended up just being really for me (and baby #2). But it was nice anyways.

Here's Avery enjoying a new Dora toy from Great Grandma Haws.

Avery got a Mrs. Potato Head! And some other new books and toys. Doesn't she look sweet in her special heart jammies? (They're her favorite since she knows what hearts are).

This is my gift from Merrick - a pretty necklace with some little diamonds on it. It was his first ever attempt at getting me jewelry, besides my wedding ring of course. I thought he did a really good job. Plus he got it at Kohl's where you can always get a great deal (do you like my not-so-subtle plug in for Kohl's? They're having a great sale right now you know...)
This is Avery in a new shirt from her Grandma Smith. Cute huh? When I took this picture she was transfixed by some little Disney Channel show.

Well I hope you guys have a great day. Tonight we're having an italian dinner at home with chicken parmesan, french bread, salad, etc. Plus we're trying out my Granny's recipe for a chocolate cherry cake. Yum! We may try to get a babysitter this weekend so we can go out to dinner alone but for tonight we thought we'd avoid the craziness of Valentine's Day business at the restaurants. Did you know that since our anniversary is August 14 that makes our 1/2 year anniversary Valentine's Day? Someone came up to us at our wedding reception and said they had the same anniversary and told us about the Valentine's Day thing. I thought that was the coolest. So today is also our 3 1/2 year anniversary too.

While I'm at it, here's a quick update on the baby progress - I'm now almost 36 weeks! Due March 17 so about a month to go. We had an ultrasound done last week to get a measurement of the baby (since Avery was so big - 9 1/2 lbs) and got another confirmation that it really is a girl. I was actually secretly hoping it was a boy primarily because I'm sick of trying to choose a girl name and it would have been nice to look at boys names for a change. But it's a girl and I'm not disappointed or anything because it will be so fun to have two girls I just haven't been able to choose a name for sure yet so, you know, let me know if you have any name suggestions. I'm getting pretty big again I think this one will be as big as Avery. Unless it comes like next week which is pretty much my only chance of having a 7 lb baby. :) Haha... not an option. I'm not ready yet! But I have started getting the little baby clothes out and organized, so at least I'm making a little progress. Well that's my update. More to come as we get closer to St. Patrick's Day!
