Third Birthday!

I wanted to add a quick recap of Camryn’s birthday. misc 090She had so much fun opening presents. She got some cute stuff from her grandparents (thank you!) and every time she saw what was under the wrapping paper she did this funny surprised sound. It was so cute!

misc 120I decided not to do a party this year so instead we did a family outing to the StoneFire Pizza Company in New Berlin. It has a pizza buffet and the Discovery Room has all these fun things for kids to do. Train tables, water tables, face painting, a pretend pizza shop you can play in, etc. Camryn’s favorite was the water table. And she looked adorable in those little aprons they had.misc 122They also had a big area kind of like Chuck E Cheese – games where you can earn tickets. It was a little crazy loud in there but we had fun playing some games. misc 124They also had mini bumper bowling, bumper cars, a big climbing structure, and this one ride called the Frog Hopper.

misc 126 The Frog Hopper was the highlight of the day for me. It shoots up in the air about 20 feet and then bounces up and down for a minute or so. Avery was much too scared to try it out. But my big girl Camryn REALLY wanted to try it out. You had to be 36 inches tall and we thought she was going to be too short and too scared so we told her that she probably couldn’t do it. She started to cry! So we said, okay let’s see if you’re tall enough. Surprisingly she was just tall enough (she measured 37” tall at her doctor appt last week) so they said she could go. I lifted her up into the seat and Merrick, Avery, and I watched nervously to see how she would do.

misc 129She was by far the smallest one. The other kids were probably 5-7 years old. She wasn’t nervous! And when they went up she was laughing and smiling! I about died. So cute! And I think that was the moment when I really realized that my little girl is three years old! She’s growing up! She’s brave and smart and adorable and I was a proud mom. :)

Look, you can’t even see her head she’s so little!!

misc 134

She had such a contented face when she got off. That’s my girl!

misc 136

Anyways, the nice thing about a buffet place is that we ate when we got there, we played for a couple hours, and then we came back and the girls ate more mac n cheese, pizza, breadsticks, and stuff before we left! Perfect!misc 137

It was a nice birthday. She had a lot of fun. Thanks to our families for all the cards, gifts, and phone calls!

Happy Birthday Camryn Olivia!

My litle baby girl:

Camryn 056

…is three years old! (Yes, it’s only 11am and we’ve already had cake.) Cam is such a beautiful birthday girl and is enjoying her birthday so far. We’ve been trying to open the presents slowly so we’re only a few presents in but she’s had such a fun day already.

My girls are really into the brand new Nick Jr. TV show Bubble Guppies and Camryn’s favorite character is Nonny so I told her I would make her a Nonny cake for her birthday. This is what he looks like on the show:

And this is how her cake turned out:

Not perfect but close enough for me! I printed off a picture (that was flipped backwards), taped wax paper on top, and decorated right on the wax paper nice and thick. Then I froze it and flipped it over onto the cake, then touched it up. Worked pretty good, although next year I’ll probably be ready to brave fondant, which would have made it much more professional looking.

misc 118It’s going to be a day full of fun with lots of new toys to play with! Here she is showing off a new necklace, new Rapunzel shoes, and some new clothes!

Potty Training

misc 069

Camryn is going to be three this week so we’ve been trying to finalize this potty training business. The potty train got derailed in February when she was sick for 2+ weeks straight. She got pretty clingy and became extremely disagreeable when I brought up the idea of going potty. This past week we had a breakthrough though – Toy Story stickers.

misc 071

This is one of the charts we have been working on. I got those Toy Story stickers on Friday so you can see she’s been doing great since we got those. I just get her excited about which character she’s going to put on her chart next and it takes all the apprehension about the potty away. She gets a new tub of pink playdoh when she finishes.

Still working on the #2’s (she has to do 4 and then she’ll get a Toy Story coloring book). But we’ll get there. I’m just thrilled that she’s gone 3 days now without wetting her pants.

misc 070 And she’s pretty happy about it too, I think. Hooray for some success!

(Oh and don’t you think her haircut is cute? I took her to Kid ‘dos a week or two ago and got a couple inches off. Her bangs are finally grown out evenly too, which is a relief.)
