Well we survived the first week of life unscathed! Lily is doing really well. She had a doctor appointment on Tuesday and she wasn’t jaundiced enough to worry about and she had only lost a half a pound, so that wasn’t bad at all.
Merrick has been off work all week so he’s been playing Super Dad. Wednesday he took the girls to the Splash Pad for a few hours, then soccer, then the local library’s ice cream social. Thursday he did a marathon day at the Wisconsin State Fair. I think he was there with the girls for 6 hours. Boy, was he tired after all that walking around! What a good guy. Yesterday they took it easy and the girls got to spend some more time with Lily.
The girls looooove holding her. Avery loves to call her “Lily Amelia” and she can’t stop talking about how much she loves her baby sister. Camryn is doing pretty well although she tends to want to sit really close next to me when I’m nursing sometimes, so we need to work on that a little. She just misses being the one her mommy cuddled the most. It’s an adjustment time for everyone.

I’m feeling really well. A little achy here and there but overall I feel very much healed from the whole process. I’ve got my ankles back!! Hooray for no more swelling! And I put my wedding ring back on for the first time in about a month.
Lily has been a good little girl. She’s starting to learn to sleep a little better. Merrick got her to sleep last night for the first time and she fell asleep in this bouncy chair by herself for the first time just now so that was super nice. There were a couple nights this week when she was awake from 1-3am but last night she slept perfectly and only woke up to nurse at 11:30, 3, and 6:30. Very nice for mama!
Anyways, on with a few pictures of Lily from the week!
