I can’t believe the summer is already half over! With our trip to the Dells, Avery’s birthday, and then the HOT week of the 4th of July, I feel like I’m finally coming up for air. But we have been busy doing fun things along the way. Here are some pictures of what we’ve been up to.
Summer School
My kids are finishing up their last day today of a four week summer school program. It’s just a couple hours in the mornings doing fun crafts and such so it’s pretty fun. Camryn has been loving it. Avery’s glad today is the last day. :) Here’s a picture of the girls ready to go on their first day back in June:

Camryn, waiting for her first day to begin. She’s made a really good friend named Emily. Camryn knew she was meant to be her BFF when she saw her Minnie Mouse backpack and Minnie shirt! Perfect.

Splash Pad
One hot day in June we met up with some friends at a zero depth splash pad. Lily didn’t wear her suit but Avery walked her around a little to cool off.

Menomonee Park Swimming
One of our favorite places to swim is Menomonee Park. We went there on July 3rd because Merrick had a half day of work that day.

Lily loved the water. Had a great time, and always had to be standing up. Luckily it was super shallow.

Fourth of July
We decorated the kids bikes the morning of the 4th to go ride in the Kiddie Parade. It was disgustingly hot. At 9am it was already over 90 degrees and we roasted. But it was still pretty fun.

Lily came along too. :)

This is what the parade looked like from within! Pretty crazy. There were definitely more people riding in the parade than watching.

We had a few families over for a BBQ that night and the kids went in the pool and on the slip n slide. Then we went over to the Sussex fireworks.

Swimming Lessons
We’ve got Avery and Camryn in swimming lessons MWF too. It’s Camryn’s first time and she’s been doing really well. Here she is being lowered off the diving board (a little too afraid to jump right in!)

Lily and I just hang out and watch. Cutie.

Pewaukee Lake
The other day it was a beautiful evening (as in, NOT 100 degrees like the previous week!!) so we decided to head over to Pewaukee Lake. They have a bunch of shops right on the little beach so we got some yummy ice cream cones and let the kids play in the water while Merrick and I read books on the beach (Does a Mom ever get to sit and read books, really?). I tried to take some cool pictures of Lily. Doesn’t a beach on a cool evening sound heavenly? It was pretty close.

And there he is, reading his book. :)

Other than that, I read this book recently and liked it. Kind of has a Hunger Games kind of feel.

And I got Avery started on this Summer Reading Program and she’s been liking it.

And that’s about it! Sorry that was so long – probably should have divided it up into separate blog posts for you! Hope you’re having a nice summer too!
